“When we started at the drawing board for these skis, I told Denny I needed a pair of skis that would be plenty fast and when I was late and broke form and started pushing on the skis, I wanted them to hold and not overload me. To accomplish this we changed the tail rocker, stiffened the tail, and modified the side cut. The result thus far has been a ski that I know will get me the angle I need and subsequently I've been able to move my cuts into the jump course about 5 feet. Secondly, I needed a pair of jumpers that would get me through the wakes and into the bottom of the jump with total control. Here we stiffened the fore-body of the skis and using a new edge design have managed to build a pair of skis that set back in the water extremely fast after the second wake to allow for max acceleration. Finally I needed a pair of skis that I could rely on good lift and tip pressure through out the jump. This was really a materials list for Denny, and needless to say, I feel he's done a great job. The new tip shape we have should really maximize air-flow. Honestly I know different people like different things. But the day I got on these skis I picked up about 5 feet on my average practice jump. The first 2 tournaments I have jumped on the skis were the McCormicks record tournaments, they posted a new world record and 7 jumps out of 12 were over 230 feet. And the Masters pending record (238’) is still my best jump to date. I think more than anything that shows the consistency and control I was looking for when we started this project.
